Growth and extending careers
Deckers places importance on chances at hand and constantly takes on new challenges, without shying away from changes or failure. Progress and performance are reviewed at least once a quarter with supervisors and colleagues to promote and correct course, creating an environment in which all can achieve the best possible results.
Training
Training opportunities are always available to improve the skills needed to achieve goals. Our e-learning training is not limited by time or location, and we are expanding our contents daily, ready to provide you with the training you need anytime, anywhere. Many of the contents of e-learning courses are made by the employees of Deckers, so it allows the efficient learning of knowledge based on practical business. For those with concerns about their English skills, business English lessons are also available.
Evaluation system and career paths
Evaluation and feedback are implemented once a year, according to the performance towards the goal set at the beginning of the term or the degree of contribution to the business. We talk about the performances so far to illustrate our assessment, but we focus on what we can and will do in the future.
For those who join the company as a Sales Associate, you will first learn the basics of serving customers and sales. Thereafter, you are able to step up your career as a Team Lead, Assistant Store Manager, or Store Manager, according to your performance. There is no predetermined career path at Deckers. In addition to advancing your career at stores, there are also chances to work actively by going through procedures such as the job posting system and transfer within the company (as VMD, sales position staff, trainer, etc.). Managers will support proactive career development for individuals.
VERTICAL MOVES
You always have an opportunity for promotion. Promotion is judged and decided by comprehensively considering points such as whether the person is ready for the promotion and whether the promotion is necessary for the organization. You can apply for work at the new level after the promotion.
LATERAL MOVES
There are transfers among different stores based on the consent of the person transferred. You can experience various stores, including roadside stores or stores within shopping malls and department stores, to expand your career. You can also apply for a new career (position in headquarters) through the job posting system.
REALIGNMENT
It is possible to change your role and limit the scope of responsibility according to your lifestyle. With such adjustment, you can ensure a good work and life balance and continue to work for the long term.
